Our administrative staff is also available to help ensure that participants can complete the program if they so desire. The team can work with you and your family to find the best options to finance your recovery journey, and can even help you work with your insurance carrier to identify coverage options. We are dedicated to helping provide access to our top-notch recovery support experiences!
Many women find that a single-gender recovery space allows them to work towards sobriety free of the distractions that are often present in mixed-gender recovery programs. Our women-only program also enables participants to connect with other individuals who have experienced similar drug and alcohol use patterns and childhood and lifetime traumas, and who have similar goals and barriers to recovery success. We’re confident that our women’s recovery center can provide exceptional support for women seeking a life of sobriety.
All of the South Bay Sober Living participants have the opportunity to participate in 12-step meetings both in the sober living home and in the local community. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings are group support opportunities for individuals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Participants in the meetings share their experience, struggles, and triumphs with the other individuals in the group to offer and receive the support necessary to get and stay sober. AA has been a prevalent recovery tool for almost 50 years because of how useful and accessible the program is. AA and NA meetings focus on understanding addiction as a disease that can be overcome with the support of a higher power and personal commitment. Sessions are available in almost every community around the nation, so even when participants return to their home community, they will have access to some of the same types of support they have come to expect during their stay at the SBSL San Diego location, which drastically increases the likelihood of achieving sustained sobriety.
Make Lifelong Friends
Recovery is about more than merely abstaining from drug and alcohol use. Recovery is about healing and connecting to a higher sense of purpose and meaning while learning how to care for your whole self: mind, body, and spirit. At South Bay Sober Living, our expert women’s sober living staff will work with you to focus on your short and long-term goals as they relate to sobriety, nutrition, exercise, spiritual growth, and interpersonal relationships. Our care team understands that you are more than just your addiction, and is here to help you commit to a full and joyful life.
Participants in the program will have access to trained nutritionists and dieticians, personal trainers and state of the art exercise facilities and equipment, alternative healing methods (reiki, acupuncture, hypnosis, etc.), and group and individualized therapy to provide the unique and personalized support needed to begin the road to recovery.
What to Expect
While it is essential that all of our admitted participants feel comfortable and at home during their stay in our San Diego women’s sober living facility, we recognize that structure is essential for accountability and long-term success. Participants will be expected to participate in weekly house meetings to discuss responsibilities and expectations, complete regular drug screenings, abstain entirely from any drug or alcohol use and continue to make meaningful progress towards their goals with the help and support of our expert care team. Beginning the road to recovery may be the most challenging thing our participants ever do, and having a predictable schedule and productive expectations have been proven to contribute to the goal of lasting sobriety positively.
Ongoing Recovery Support
Before exiting the program, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with their expert care team to implement a continuous support plan for their departure. Individuals will have the chance to ensure that mental health, counseling, nutrition, physical training, and other support services are in place in their home community so that they can keep the ball rolling as they take the next step in their recovery journey. Our staff will remain available for individuals to contact and work with as they continue working towards sobriety.
